Rebecca's 11th Birthday Dec 28th 2011

Well today we had a family Camo Party for Rebecca. First thing she wanted to do when she woke up was open her presents. Her sister's went with me yesterday and picked it up. Since then they had been getting her all worked up for what it was!

this is a Harry Potter Lego Game it was such a hit they Played it all day!

We decided instead of going anywhere she would rather stay home and play with her gifts. She asked me if I would make her Cheesecake for her cake. I don't know what I was thinking but I found a recipe that was for the kind you cook instead of no bake and that's what I made. It's nice to be able to say I have made a cheesecake this way, but it is not going to be ready today. So we will have to continue this party tomorrow!

We had to wait until the morning for the cheesecake to cool! We ended up having Cheesecake and Ice cream for Breakfast!

Christmas Caroling 2011

Friday Night we decided to go out Christmas caroling to hand out our neighbor gifts. I had been shopping just before and did not know if I would make it or not.

This year I found the gift off of Pinterest it was a nativity written about M&M's. I got the pretzel kind of M&M's and attatched this message to it.

 The kids don't always like this tradition, but they are good sports anyway. We used the van a little bit more this year then we did last. We would drive to a block and do that set of houses before we got in again. I noticed that towards the end we were using the Van a lot more. To figure out what songs I brought a Christmas song book and a flash light. Not everyone we went to was home, but there were some and it turned out to be a very fun night. Even if our body parts were all frozen by the time we got home. Once home we enjoyed hot chocolate and a fire. It really makes you appreciate the warmth!! It was great to spread Christmas Cheer!

Our trip to Temple Square on Frontrunner 2011

Thursday night we decided that we would take the kids once more on Frontrunner down to Temple Square. We left our house about 6:30 We did not have to wait for the first train I think it was waiting for us.

 We got down to Salt Lake faster than I remember.

 We ate at JB's Restaurant Which is right on the corner when you get off of the train. Our waiter was a not in the very best of moods. I guess they don't have to worry about service when they have the location they do. We also ran into Sharae's Sister and Brother in Law while we were there.

 As we were on our way to Temple Square we saw a man in a wheel chair taking donations. He had two really cute dogs which seemed to attract the attention of the kids, but also a lot of the other people passing by. Rebecca found a quarter and tried to give it to the man, but he told her that she could keep it.

Rebecca and Jolie were having fun stomping around the  Temple Grounds like Soldiers!

 It was nice to see the lights this year! It seemed that we did not have a lot of time to sit and watch the manger scene or go up to See the statue of Christ. We did have a chance to go over to the reflective pools which is one of my favorite spots.

 The lanterns were towards the end. I took several pictures because I thought the designs on them were pretty neat!

 There were also different Nativity scenes from different countries.
 We decided about 9:30 that we were tired enough to make it back to the train and go home.

The only one it did not phase was Mike he slept right through it!

We felt so lucky when the train pulled up to the stop right as we got there. Little did we know that we would be waiting for an hour and a half because this was the last train of the night. It was hard on all of the kids. Due to the long wait we did not end up getting home until well past Midnight! Next time I think we will check the schedule a little better.
